Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 4.6% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 905,363 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,158 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,177 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 908,298 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a rise of about 4.3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 31.5% of total generation, while solar power and lignite plants contributed 14.8% and 10.8%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 5,602 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,682 megawatt-hours.
