Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.7% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,145,921 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,422 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 38,191 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,168,919 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of about 0.8% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.7% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 20.5% and 14.8%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 24,131 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,507 megawatt-hours.
