Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.2% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,131,285 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,764 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,108 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,153,425 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decrease of about 0.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.3% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 19.3% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 23,262 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 945 megawatt-hours.
