ISTANBUL
Major exchanges in the US stock market opened Friday with gains.
The Dow was up 133 points, or 0.4%, to 33,799 at 9.35 a.m. EDT, while the S&P 500 rose 27 points, or 0.64%, to 4,327.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 133 points, or 1.01%, to 13,334.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, dove 6% to 16.29, while the 10-year US Treasury yield fell 1.8% to 4.519%.
The dollar index was down 0.3% to 105.90, and the euro increased 0.28% to $1.0589 against the greenback.
Precious metals reversed course and were on the rise, with gold adding 0.4% to $1,873 per ounce and silver soaring 2.9% to $23.28.
Oil prices down just 0.05%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $93.07 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $91.63.
