Americans’ personal income rose 0.3% in March, compared to the previous month, according to official figures released Friday.
Personal income rose $67.9 billion in March from the previous month, showed data by the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis.
The figure came above the market expectation of a 0.2% increase, after posting a 0.3% gain in February.
Personal spending stood steady at $8.2 billion in March, from the previous month.
The expectation for the figure was to show a decline of 0.1%, after rising 0.1% in February.
Within services, the largest contributors to the increase were spending on housing and utilities, and healthcare services.
