Türkiye’s oil imports up 18.7% in April 2024

Türkiye’s total oil imports increased by 18.7% to 4.20 million tons in April 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to recent data released by the country’s energy watchdog on Friday.

Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rose by 37.5% in April to 2.74 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.

Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in April, totaling 2.70 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 492,602 tons and 249,095 tons, respectively.

Oil refinery product exports increased by 17.9% to 3.17 million tons.

Additionally, domestic oil product sales increased by 8.6% year over year in April to 2.52 million tons.
