Türkiye’s oil imports down 1% in August

Türkiye’s total oil imports decreased by 1% to 4.38 million tons in August compared to the same month in 2024, according to recent data released by the country’s energy watchdog on Monday.

Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, rose by 8.6% in August to 2.87 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.

Türkiye imported the majority of its oil and oil product needs from Russia in August, totaling 2.7 million tons.

Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 579,517 tons and 252,963 tons, respectively.

Total exports in the oil market increased by 0.8%, reaching 1.21 million tons.

Additionally, total domestic oil product sales increased by 3.08% year-over-year in August to 3.20 million tons.
