Türkiye’s oil imports down 1.3% in January

Türkiye’s total oil imports decreased by 1.3% to 3.78 million tons in January compared to the same month in 2024, according to recent data released by the country’s energy watchdog on Thursday.

Crude oil imports, the category with the highest oil import volume, declined by 2.4% in January to 2.36 million tons, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly report.

Türkiye imported the majority of its crude oil and oil product needs from Russia in January, totaling 1.40 million tons. Iraq and Kazakhstan followed with 513,095 tons and 213,577 tons, respectively.

Oil refinery product exports increased by 24.2% to 1.46 million tons.

Additionally, domestic oil product sales decreased by 0.7% year-over-year in January to 2.41 million tons.
