Türkiye’s intangible cultural heritage lists expand to 26 elements

Türkiye continues to enhance its cultural presence on the global stage as the number of elements registered on the Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage hit 26.

Türkiye’s national nomination file, “Traditional knowledge, methods and practices concerning olive cultivation,” has been inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, during the 18th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, being held in Kasane, Botswana between Dec. 4 – 9, according to the Foreign Ministry.

“The number of Türkiye’s cultural elements inscribed on the Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage has reached 26,” it said.​​​​​​​
