October 27, 2025 3:47 pmTürkiye’s natural gas imports increased by 3.3% in August compared to the same month in 2024, according to data from Türkiye’s energy watchdog on Monday.
Natural gas imports in August rose to around 4.02 billion cubic meters (bcm) from approximately 3.90 bcm in the same month of 2024, Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its latest monthly natural gas market report.
Russia was the largest natural gas supplier to Türkiye, providing 1.83 bcm, while Azerbaijan and Iran followed with 1.47 bcm and 840 million cubic meters (mcm), respectively.
Algeria was the biggest LNG exporter to Türkiye with 298.7 mcm.
Meanwhile, the country’s total gas consumption rose by 2.7% to approximately 3.45 bcm, compared to the same month last year.
Household consumption decreased by 1.6% to 287.9 mcm, while gas consumption in power plants increased by 3.5% to 1.53 bcm during the same period.
The natural gas storage volume in August expanded by 14.5% to around 4.95 bcm, compared to 4.32 bcm in August 2024.
