Türkiye’s energy import bill increased by 5.7% to $6.08 billion in February compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Thursday.
The country’s energy import bill totaled $5.75 billion last February.
The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, totaled $28.53 billion.
At $6.08 billion, energy accounted for 21.3% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in January.
Crude oil imports saw a 0.9% decrease to 2.24 million tons, compared to 2.46 million tons in February 2024.
