Türkiye’s energy import bill rises 13.1% in July

Türkiye’s energy import bill rose 13.1% year-on-year to $5.83 billion in July, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.

Energy imports stood at $5.15 billion in July last year.

The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, increased 5.1% from a year earlier to $32.97 billion in July.

At $5.83 billion, energy accounted for 17.7% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in July.

Crude oil imports saw a 0.3% increase to 2.93 million tons in July, compared to 2.92 million tons in July 2025.
