Türkiye’s energy import bill down 5.9% in March

​​​​​​Türkiye’s energy import bill decreased by 5.9% to $5.49 billion in March compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Tuesday.

The country’s energy import bill totaled $5.84 billion in March 2023.

The data shows that the overall import bill in March, including energy and other items, totaled $29.9 billion.

At $5.49 billion, energy accounted for 18.36% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in March.

Crude oil imports in March showed a 6.1% increase to 2.68 million tons, compared to 2.52 million tons in March 2023.
