Türkiye’s energy import bill down 25.7% in January

​​​​​​Türkiye’s energy import bill decreased by 25.7% to $6.53 billion in January compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Wednesday.

The country’s energy import bill totaled $8.79 billion in January 2023.

The data shows that the overall import bill in January, including energy and other items, totaled $26.21 billion.

At $6.53 billion, energy accounted for 24.9% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in January.

Crude oil imports in January showed a 7.5% increase to 2.42 million tons, compared to 2.25 million tons in January 2023.
