Türkiye’s energy import bill down 16.4% in September

​​​​​​Türkiye’s energy import bill declined by 16.4% to $4.71 billion in September compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Thursday.

The country’s energy import bill totaled $5.63 billion last September.

The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, totaled $27.11 billion.

At $4.71 billion, energy accounted for 17.4% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in September.

Crude oil imports saw a 43% decrease to 1.68 million tons, compared to 2.96 million tons in September 2023.
