Türkiye’s dailypower consumption up 2.2% on August 6

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,188,348 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,974 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 39,130 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,204,686 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of about %2.6 compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 28.5% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 20% and 12.2%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 21,553 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,216 megawatt-hours.
