Türkiye’s daily power consumption up around 0.7% on Apr. 17

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 943,706 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,063 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,949 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 954,613 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a rise of about 1.0% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 30.7% of total generation, while wind and solar contributed 19.6% and 11.8%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 13,584 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,236 megawatt-hours.
