Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 6.2% on April 4

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 6.22% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 917,631 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,195 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,548 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 924,840 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a down of about 6.14 % compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 33% of total generation, while solar and run-of-river hydroelectric power plants contributed 13% and 12.7%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 8,638 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,550 megawatt-hours.
