Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 5% on April 12

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 5% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 578,940 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 29,182 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 19,846 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 582,580 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 4.9% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 24.6% of total generation, while wind and run-of-river hydroelectric plants contributed 20.9% and 12.8%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,020 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,382 megawatt-hours.
