Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 4.9% on June 18

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 4.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 736,131 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,724 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 23,657 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 735,449 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of 5% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 20.9% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 20% and 17.5%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 10,354 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,036 megawatt-hours.
