Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 3.2% on April 2

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 3.2% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 846,788 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,442 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,572 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 841,874 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of 3.5% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 20.8% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 19.9% and 11.7%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 2,863 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 7,812 megawatt-hours.
