March 4, 2025 12:23 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 20.3% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 984,227 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,748 megawatt-hours at 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,507 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 996,376 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 19.9% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.9% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind plants contributed 24.1% and 15.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,731 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,586 megawatt-hours.
