March 7, 2024 7:12 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 947,168 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,650 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,374 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 946,256 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 1.9% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.7% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 22.1% and 19.5%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,492 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 5,440 megawatt-hours.
