Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.95% on Tuesday, August 22

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.95% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,115,752 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,341 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,824 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,106,473 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 2.85% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.6% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 20.1% and 14%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,887 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 15,165 megawatt-hours.
