March 21, 2024 7:18 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.75% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 930,302 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,257 megawatt-hours at 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,606 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 928,229 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of 2.56% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23.8% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 16.3% and 14.5%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,860 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 6,971 megawatt-hours.
