Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.6% on Sept. 29

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 2.6% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 972,245 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,109 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,956 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 992,100 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of about 2.6% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from hydroelectric power plants accounted for around 21.1% of total generation, while wind power plants and imported coal plants contributed 19.9% and 18.9%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 20,865 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,140 megawatt-hours.
