Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.6% on Nov. 7

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2.6% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 855,606 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,385 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,915 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 816,489 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 3.1% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 28.2% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 26.3% and 14.1%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,898 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,197 megawatt-hours.
