August 19, 2026 8:20 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2.5% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,137,405 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,952 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,805 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,160,184 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of about 2.51% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.4% of total generation, while imported coal and natural gas contributed 20.4% and 17.1%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 23,810 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,016 megawatt-hours.
