Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.4% on Nov. 16

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.4% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 885,114 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,775 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,276 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 874,894 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 2.6% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 27.6% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 20.6% and 13.5%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,659 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,878 megawatt-hours.
