Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2.4% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 941,765 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,364 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,103 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 949,119 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of about 0.78% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 30.3% of total generation, while solar power and lignite plants contributed 13.4% and 10.2%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 8,137 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 920 megawatt-hours.
