Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.27% on May 28

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.27% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 884,529 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,669 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,936 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 877,978 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of 2.15% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from imported coal constituted 19.5% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and natural gas plants contributed 19.1% and 15.2%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,784 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,361 megawatt-hours.
