Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 2.25% on July 7

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2.25% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,108,647 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,194 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 36,520 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,110,027 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about 2.11% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.5% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 19.2% and 16.1%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 7,444 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,051 megawatt-hours.
