Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 14.9% on July 13

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,124,519 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,774 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 35,084 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,128,285 megawatt-hours on Monday marking a rise of about 5.1% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 22.3% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 18.9% and 16.6%, respectively.

On Monday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 8,798 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,013 megawatt-hours.
