Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 14.4% on Monday, July 31

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 14.4% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,043,196 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,698 megawatt-hours at 4 p.m. local time (1300 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,812 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,043,196 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 15% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 22% and 14%, respectively.

On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,067 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 16,402 megawatt-hours.
