January 27, 2026 9:57 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.1% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,011,906 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,541 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,679 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,026,503 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 13.8% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 22.6% of total generation, while wind and natural gas plants contributed 19.3% and 17.4%, respectively.
On Monday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 16,854 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,271 megawatt-hours.
