Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 13.6% on April 13

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 13.6 % on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 941,160 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,773 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,888 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 947,071 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 13.1% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 31.4% of total generation, while solar and lignite contributed 16.6% and 10.8%, respectively.

On Monday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 7,369 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,529 megawatt-hours.
