August 27, 2025 4:17 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 10.5% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,104,887 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,204 megawatt-hours at 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,982 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,113,177 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about 9.2% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 22% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 21.6% and 16.4%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 12,169 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,944 megawatt-hours.
