Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 1.58% on Tuesday, August 8

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 1.58% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,107,746 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,628 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 36,913 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,092,114 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 1.77% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 28.2% of total generation, while natural gas plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21.5% and 12.5%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,688 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 19,320 megawatt-hours.
