Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 1.4% on Sept. 12

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 1.4% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 954,630 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,346 megawatt-hours at 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,952 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 943,081 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 1.4% compared to Monday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.3% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 22.6% and 13.9%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,721 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,270 megawatt-hours.
