Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 1.3% on June 26

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.3% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,101,591 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,565 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,418 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,096,188 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a rise of about 0.32% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 23.3% of total generation, while solar power and wind power contributed 16.5% and 16.4%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 9,430 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,989 megawatt-hours.
