April 22, 2026 11:25 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.3% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 919,728 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,941 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,283 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 929,701 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about 2.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 29.5% of total generation, while solar power and lignite plants contributed 16.6% and 11.3%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 11,533 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,645 megawatt-hours.
