Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.57% on May 29

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.57% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 889,610 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,473 megawatt-hours at 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,609 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 883,980 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of 0.68% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 19.4% of total generation, while imported coal and natural gas plants contributed 19.2% and 16.2%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,304 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,964 megawatt-hours.
