Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.2% on Aug. 15

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.2% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,165,494 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 56,507 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,473 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,159,677 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 0.03% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.9% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind plants contributed 20.6% and 13.4%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,275 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,945 megawatt-hours.
