January 13, 2024 3:32 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.17% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 979,558 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,167 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,157 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 980,686 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 0,008% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 22.7% of total generation, while imported coal plants and natural gas plants contributed 22.6% and 20.1%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 7,867 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 6,739 megawatt-hours.
