Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.1% on July 3

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.1% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,154,509 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,076 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,879 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,158,075 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a rise of about 0.2% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 22.5% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 19.5% and 15.2%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 6,534 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,136 megawatt-hours.
