August 22, 2026 7:08 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.1% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,173,183 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 56,350 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 38,589 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,195,113 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of about 0.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 22.4% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 19.9% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 22,597 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 729 megawatt-hours.
