Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.07% on Sept. 13

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.07% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,032,096 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,398 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,041 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,028,319 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 0.03% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.9% of total generation, while imported coal and hydropower plants contributed 23.4% and 14.8%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,169 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,951 megawatt-hours.
