Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.04% on Apr. 16

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.04% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 936,549 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,813 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,651 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 945,348 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 0.1% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 30.1% of total generation, while solar and wind contributed 15.8% and 13.0%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 9,959 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,241 megawatt-hours.
