Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 9.3% on June 30

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye declined by 9.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 930,703 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,002 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,658 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 918,203 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a drop of 9.6% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from wind constituted 20.9% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 19% and 14.4% respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,925 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,305 megawatt-hours.
