Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 8.8% on Sunday, August 13

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 8.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 924,136 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,682 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,522 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 907,943 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 9% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 24.7% of total generation, while natural gas plants and wind plants contributed 16.6% and 16%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,120 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 20,313 megawatt-hours.
